As artists and arts advocates, our responsibility is to not only create programming that speaks directly to our audience, but to also produce work that shapes the world around us. We stand in solidarity with all who protest and unite against this country's long-standing legacy of racism. We bear witness to the systemic and ongoing injustice. We share in the anguish that has erupted across the nation.
Black Lives Matter!
Imagine Project was born out of a need to address gender and racial inequity on Los Angeles stages. Allowing children to grow up with heroes illustrative of the diverse heritages that make up Los Angeles instills empathy, understanding, and acceptance, and combats the way our unique differences have been used by many as justification to spread hatred. Employing local stage artists of all backgrounds on our stage empowers ALL artists in our industry and unequivocally declares that all stories, all dreams, all voices deserve to be heard.
